So, you have a business, and you dream about being the next Richard Branson sometime soon. It’s normal, everyone has a dream and most that do dream, want to follow it! The thing is though some get stuck in a rut and never progress anywhere with their new venture. This can be because finance hold them back, family commitments- or just plain old life. Yup, you never really can predict what is around the corner. You can, however, make sure that you streamline and progress to success, by taking a look at traits that all the successful business men and women out there have!
First of all, failure is something that we seem to associate with being at a loss. Losers fail right? Wrong, successful people that have had enough common sense to admit that they have failed, picked up the pieces and moved onto the next bigger, better venture fail too! Even Richard Branson failed at one point in his career. In-fact, if I’m not mistaken, multiple times. Look at Donald Trump, yes perhaps not the world’s best loved man right now, but well he too has had his own fair share of failure. Success is not something that get served out to you on a plate. They don’t dish out portions of instant success! You need to earn it, work for it- and strive for it. When you’ve failed, if you’re determined to be someone or get to your goal, then you won’t give up. It will make you pick the pieces of the puzzle up, brush yourself down, and charge back full force, with the next plan of action. Something, bigger, better and more realistic. So, remember failure is not something to be ashamed of, it is in fact, quite the latter.
Admiration – Not Hate
Now, this is something that may seem irrelevant, but it is also something that so many need to pick up on. Yup, admiration, now there is a fine line between admiring people that have gained success, and hating on them. When you can learn to be happy and understand that whoever got to their success story, deserved to be there. You will have a cleaner heart and be light weight enough to ensure that you too can float higher towards where you want to be in terms of achieving your goals. You see, if you hate those that have achieved success, then you are going to put yourself in a predicament whereby you will be held down, kind of like having a prison tag around your ankle. You will not be in jail, yet you will not be free to come and go as you please. It is so important to not hate successful people, but to try to be smart enough to educate yourself off of their success stories. Realise that there is nothing stopping you from doing the very same thing. In-fact, why not aim to be bigger and better? Food for thought.
Now this is a key pointer here. No matter what you do in business if you don’t market, you simply cannot be found. Sure, you will have a sign up on the store and those that need you will pop in. That is useless in today’s cut throat market though. You don’t just want to get those that pop in out of pure laziness to walk further afield for services you offer. No, you need to try to get people that like what they read, that are sold on your branding, your images, your slogans- and more importantly you are able to bite them into your life making them believe that you are the real deal. You need to be able to create a desire for your product or service. When there is desire, sales will be high! Marketing is not just sitting behind your desk advertising online mind. Nowadays it is about getting out there, face to face meetings, and attending networking events too.
Putting Your Face To Your Name
Yes, this may seem trivial, but would you entrust your services to someone that cannot even feel confident about them to the point where they won’t even put their face to front THEIR company? You may not be the best to look at- but all your prospective clients want to know is that you are genuine. That it is you- and well that you are what you say you are. Be proud to be you, and proud to market your brand.
Now this is going to sound a bit weird, particularly if you are into business because there are some old school people that say that business and honesty don’t come hand in hand. Maybe a little true in some fields but well if you are going to market in today’s world, then you need to be realistic. People don’t need your psychological sales techniques, The old style 99p instead of a pound etc are not going to work as well. Buy one get ones frees etc, well they do work but you need to advertise without the small print. It’s those silly terms and conditions and what nots that put people off being able to carry on with their purchases. I mean, would you want to buy a top deal that offered you the gold and then the small print states that it’s in fact silver? Think about it! Who likes to be conned?
Don’t Be Afraid To Market Overseas
Overseas marketing can scare the hell of people. You know translations, languages and well a whole new world of working and rules to adhere to. Don’t be set in your ways. Travel is good and anyone that is successful has travelled and knows how to adapt in difference counties. Get out, market and see the world in order to open your brain and allow new concepts and ideas to flood in.
So, there you go- things to consider if you want to be someone! Let’s close this article with a reminder of positivity- yes you need to be positive too😊
